The attacks on successful minority celebs have been Brutal!
In the case of two more prominent ones; the sheer heart wrenching comparisons are SHOCKING. I OFTEN WONDER "WHAT KIND OF WORLD AM I LIVING IN" YET; I thought to myself in these cases INDEED - WHAT IS WRONG with SOME!
First, Gabby Douglas (Olympic Gymnast) being referred to as a "Nappy Headed Whore" among OTHER things was upsetting and confusing. What exactly was she "Whorish" about I asked myself and How did her hairstyle Contribute to the goals she accomplished.
Second, Quvenzhane Wallis (Oscar Nominee) was considered "Obnoxious/Annoying" and in another reference a "Cunt" which left me Dumbfounded and Speechless! Last time I checked, and I've been called a cunt TWICE for doing the right and also legal thing in reporting and deterring crimes so I've looked up the term, she would have shown a behavior and/or body part I find practically impossible considering what she has exhibited in her short life.
Why even bother encouraging children like them to Excel beyond the "usual limits" they see in a stereotypical world when THIS is such a "Widespread Reward"?! The bullying aspects are just TOO MUCH!!
I thank God Every Day that I don't have a child in today's era due to the lack of Tolerance and Sympathy in our society as of late!!!
I wonder what we as Human Beings need to do to get the message across that even if you "Think It" you do not necessarily have to "Say It"!!!!
Just My Thoughts.
